ABOUT OUR KINGDOM
AYEGBE KINGDOM
A RICH HISTORY
Ayegbe Kingdom, Ise (Ishe) Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government of Ondo State is an ancient town. We call ourselves ÀYÉGBÈ and the dialect we speak is ÙYÉGBÉ.
Our origin is traced back to Ile-Ife, the ancestral home of the Yorubas. In the olden days, people throughout the world were generally moving about for trade, businesses, hunting, farming etc from place to place until they finally found a permanent place of abode to settle-in. That’s how our progenitors move from Ile-Ife pass through Benin (Old Benin Empire). They settled down in a town call ÀYÁNRÁN now Akoko Edo, Edo State.
